Fairport Reports Second Staph Case

A second case of MRSA was reported at a middle school in the Fairport School District.

A student at Martha Brown Middle School tested positive for the staph superbug. School officials report the student's been treated.

The school's undergoing a thorough cleaning as a precaution as well as the buses used by students.

Health officials advised students and staff to use all of the normal precautions, including regular hand washing.

It's the second case of MRSA in the Fairport School District. A student at Northside Elementary is recovering from the antibiotic resistant form of staph.

Other cases have been reported in the Newark, Seneca Falls, Spencerport and Albion school districts.
