Sometimes, the best Halloween costumes are those people put together themselves, one theory goes.Based on that supposition, Goodwill store employees hope that customers will consider visiting their locations in preparation for trick-or-treating and seasonal parties.Sandy Adams, manager of the Fenton Goodwill store, 99 Old Sugar Creek Road, and Phyllis Weiss, a Goodwill spokesperson, explained that the selection and the way items are sold at Goodwill shops allow purchasers to build their own outfits item by item."People want to dress up," Weiss said. "They want the costume everybody's talking about. They won't find it at a big superstore."They'll come here looking for pieces to use their creativity and wind up with something that they can't find anywhere else. And, they created it."Adams said that while Halloween season is a popular time of year at Goodwill stores, she suspects there are many more folks who could be utilizing what Goodwill has to offer to put together unique costumes."I've been working at the company five years and we've always focused on holidays," she said.
